Sports Centre Community Lounge

Developed for Solrød Sports Centre, the project transformed an existing café and lounge area into a more welcoming and cohesive social space for visitors, sports clubs, and local communities.

The design centred around a soft monochromatic palette of greens, applied across walls, ceilings, columns, and technical installations to create a unified spatial experience. Existing architectural elements were embraced rather than concealed, allowing colour to bring coherence and character to the space.

Acoustic curtains were introduced to create flexible zones for dining, meetings, and informal gatherings, while supporting a calmer atmosphere within the open-plan environment.

The project demonstrates how colour can be used as a strategic spatial tool to strengthen identity, improve atmosphere, and transform everyday public spaces with relatively simple interventions.
